I believe that the key to my relationship with my clients is to provide them information and education, so that they can make intelligent decisions. My initial consultations always consists of an evaluation of the entire Family Law matter at hand, and I attempt to answer all questions posed by the prospective client. It is never my intention to "sell" my services. In fact, I refer a number of client whom I truly believe do not need legal representation to competent and honest certified Document Preparation Assistants, and to various self-help resources. If a prospective client and I reach an agreement on representation, I work diligently to resolve all issues, both as economically as possible and with every effort to minimize the emotional turmoil involved in these complex and trying matters. My preference is to work cooperatively with clients and the other involved parties, and their attorneys, as applicable, and to try to resolve matters beneficially to my client without the expense and emotional distress involved with litigation and Trial. There are, of course, situations where there are strong issues in dispute and significant conflict which cannot be resolved cooperatively. In those cases I am absolutely prepared, both emotionally and experientially, to litigate and to assert my client's right to a fair and just Judgment.
